Building in public

A rolling six-month view of how Dugout Lineup moves from product decisions into reviewed, released, and continuously improved software.

Operating principles

  1. Start with the real workflow, under real pressure.
A customer buying an add-on, a business owner managing call forwarding, or a coach building a lineup mid-inning — the product has to hold up in the moment that matters.
  2. Build reusable systems, not one-off features.
Catalog flags, treatment matrices, consent components, analytics taxonomies, and role permissions create compounding leverage across journeys.
  3. Move teams from ad hoc to governed — without slowing them down.
Turn scattered intake and reactive work into clear lanes, shared expectations, and measurable outcomes that teams actually adopt.
  4. Pair business judgment with builder fluency.
I don't need to be the engineer to reason about APIs, dependencies, tradeoffs, and edge cases — and increasingly, I build to stay close to the craft.

Who I am

The same instincts that show up in my product work show up away from it — a pull toward systems, strategy, service, and doing things with care.

1Children & youth development
Head baseball coach, 8U · Sharon Springs Athletics — player development, fairness, and team culture. Chess coach for kids — teaching focus, patience, and strategic thinking. Youth mentor — giving kids small side projects to spark discovery, building, and confidence.
2Animal welfare
Atlanta Humane Society — adoption events, outreach, and shelter operations. Forsyth County Animal Control — volunteer support for animals in care.
3Environmental stewardship
Chattahoochee River bed clearing — waterway cleanup and habitat protection. Dunwoody Nature Center — trail and green-space cleanups.
4How I think for fun
Chess and cricket — pattern, position, and the long game. The strategy habits that bleed into how I frame product decisions.
5What grounds me
Family, two dogs, and an ethical, animal-first way of living. The outdoors — travel, trails, and time away from screens.
6What I value
Building things that respect people's time and trust — at work, on the field, and in the community.

Enterprise proof

High-scale commerce, regulated CX, and enterprise modernization — the headline before the full stories below.

Native commerce platform ownership

Led config-driven native app commerce, add-on monetization, pricing clarity, order confirmation, and catalog governance for a 5M+ MAU app ecosystem — driving +32% YoY eCommerce growth and 4× order growth.

Regulated commerce & trust-critical CX

Built reusable disclosure, consent, All-In Pricing, device financing, cancellation-readiness, and role-aware business-app patterns across regulated journeys.

Enterprise modernization across industries

Modernized legacy platforms into API-first, cloud-ready, analytics-enabled products across telecom, automotive, financial services, and marketplace domains.

Enterprise impact stories

The role-level narratives behind the numbers — the deeper proof layer for how each outcome was delivered.

Cox Communications — turned a support app into a native commerce platform.

Led the shift from link-out dependency to native in-app purchase, compressing high-intent journeys from 5 steps to 2 steps and enabling native add-on commerce, pricing clarity, regulatory consent, and scalable catalog governance — delivering +32% YoY eCommerce growth and order growth.

Cox Communications — built trust-critical patterns for regulated commerce.

Delivered reusable disclosure, consent, All-In Pricing, FCC Broadband Facts Label, FTC Click-to-Cancel readiness, Massachusetts CTC, and device financing patterns that improved customer clarity while reducing legal, billing, and operational risk — including ~$450K annual savings from retiring third-party financing dependency.

Cox Business App — laid the foundation for an enterprise-grade business platform.

Defined RBAC, enhanced analytics, role-aware deep links, push notification architecture, and native call-forwarding discovery to move the CB App from a viewer channel toward a self-service platform for SMB and multi-location customers.

Equifax — migrated a global risk-decisioning platform with zero critical defects.

Led a regulated $35M cloud modernization serving 900+ B2B enterprise clients across the Americas — cutting delivery cycles from 6–8 months to 4–6 weeks while maintaining SOC-2 / ISO compliance throughout.

Manheim — delivery lead on a ~$100M omnichannel auction transformation.

Served as a delivery and product lead within Manheim's “Gavel to Gate” program — part of a publicly reported ~$100M, multi-year modernization — helping move a physical auction business toward an integrated physical-digital marketplace across 80+ locations, with reusable QA governance and release-readiness frameworks.

Cox Automotive — modernized enterprise platforms, API-first.

Delivered API-first title-status modernization that cut title turnaround by ~75%, plus event-driven auditability, cloud migration, and AngularJS→React modernization for shared services and title operations across Manheim and Cox Automotive brands.

Builder signal

Hands-on AI building keeps me close to the craft.

I build outside work to stay close to real users, technical tradeoffs, and product feedback loops — including Dugout Lineup, a live youth-sports PWA built from firsthand coaching pain.

Builder proof: real problem → shipped product

The discovery
Head Coach, 8U Baseball · Sharon Springs Athletics

Coaching 12 young athletes, I hit the real-time mess firsthand: fair lineups, position rotations, bench management, and keeping parents in the loop — all under game pressure, mostly on paper.

The build
Dugout Lineup · live PWA

So I built the product to solve it: automated fair lineups, inning-by-inning positions, bench rotation, and a single source of truth shared with parents and scorekeepers — shipped end-to-end with AI-assisted development.
